Nested within Shanghai’s century old Rui Jin Hotel, “The Pine at Rui Jin” is Light & Salt’s newest restaurant & lounge with a west-meet-east cuisine concept, which is trying to combine the Chinese calendar culture with western cooking technique, in a style of ingredients reflects its terrior. The restaurant is located within Building 11 of Shanghai’s famous Rui Jin Hotel. The garden lounge establishment is the product of six years of conception by the veteran Shanghai F&B group on how the space and environment interacts with and improves dining.

Heading up The Pine is Malaysian-Chinese chef Johnston Teo. Johnston has years of experience working amongst some of the best restaurants in the world, including Odette ( Two Michelin stars,ranked 9th among ASIA'S 50 BEST,) as Research & Development chef and Iggy's ( One Michelin star ) as sous chef, instilling him with a respect and understanding for ingredients in it's purest form. His creations are driven by not only an impeccable professionalism and modern technique, but also a philosophy of “less is more” and a deep respect for using local seasonal ingredients.
