Took my mum here for an early Mother's Day dinner as she was in town. She loved the experience.
Staff were very friendly and attentive. It would have been perfect if they could have cleared the crumbs on her mat earlier on in the evening rather than waiting till the dessert course.
We enjoyed all of our courses especially the amuse bouche of foie gras mousse and parmesan foam, the lobster spaghetti and the Wagyu steak. I had also ordered one of the signature dishes for my appetiser, the caviar and king crab with seafood jelly. I liked it but it is not for everyone's tastebuds. My mum has a more conservative palette.
It was nice to see a slightly different menu offered this time as it offered a chance to taste other dishes on the menu, especially with the addition of some of its signatures.
I enjoyed the breads and the appetisers very much. Less impressed by the steak. It was not bad just that it was not as "wow" as the first 2 courses.
The eggplant parmesan looked seriously good and my friends who had the ravioli were also really pleased with their dish. I had the tuna avocado which was cut into nice bite size chunks instead of the pathetically tiny diced pieces of fish.
Tiramisu was ok too but I really expected it to be better.
Love this place. They might not have a huge menu but they do every well. It is a Korean Italian fusion kind of place. They put a little Korean twist in some of the familiar Italian dishes.
Highly recommend the squid ink ariancini! Try the ginseng chicken soup too. Light broth but flavourful. (Live octopus is optional).. You can request for them not to add the octopus. Pumpkin soup was nice and thick. Plus the added feature of serving in a pumpkin so you can carve out the flesh as you slurp your soup. (Polite in Korean culture to slurp.. Right?)
The tiramisu was nice too. More of the novelty of them making it right at your table and having them explain all the steps and ingredients.. Hence the name of the dish (leave it for you to find out when you look at their menu)
Their set menu left the both of us really full.. *Chicken ginseng soup is not included in the set... Been back twice...
Beautiful decor.. Interestingly You are reminded of who it was named after everywhere in the restaurant.. From the entrance to the bathroom.
Food was good, the foie gras starter was definitely something I have not tried before. Nice balance with the cheese foam.
But before that, the bread basket was a sight to behold! So many different types of hot breads to try (and you get to pack them if you are unable to finish it all) Great idea as the food does not get wasted then. They are obviously not serving those breads to another customer.
The lobster course was excellent. A full lobster claw in a shallow dish of bisque. Definitely ordering this again when I go back.
Pork was nice but I wasn't blown away by it. Signature mash was a little too buttery for my liking. It was good but I have other favourites.
Dessert...that chocolate was a great end to the meal. Using dark chocolate so it is not overly sweet and save room for the chocolate puff when they serve the petite four.
It was a great dining experience..
We tried 2 different set menus.. One was the winter tasting menu and the other was the beef Wellington.
Really really generous with the truffles.
Scallops were delicious!! Meaty and fresh Flavours.
Beef Wellington with foie gras was a definite crowd pleaser, even with my friends who were not too keen on foie gras.
We had 12 dishes in total.. Too many to review every single one.
The sets were really value for money.
All I can say is this is the second time I've been back and I will be heading back for more.
Great restaurant! Good steaks at very reasonable prices. This is definitely value for money. The grilled cheese starter is Super yummy. We had to order 3 servings of those between the 10 of us cos it was so good. Highly recommend their flan as well.
Ambience was nice. Service was great! It was a really good offer for Elite Dining week. 4 courses plus an amuse bouche and a petite four at the end. I really like the amuse bouche of deconstructed California roll. It is not the lazy unimaginative idea of serving the ingredients separately but rather putting them together in a different form.
Dessert of raspberry balloon was delicious! It was also a little tart and coupled with the light whipped cream, it was less heavy than the chocolate bar. But for chocolate lovers, the chocolate bar would have been THE choice. It was good too.
Overall a very pleasant dining experience.
Good steaks at even better prices. The mozzarella starters were so good we ordered 3 of them for 10 people... Sweet potato mash was also a great side for the steaks.
Had a great experience here. The restaurant week menu is really filling as the portions are very generous. Quality of the food was Excellent! Real value for money. We will be back for the regular menu soon.
Came here for a brunch on the weekend. It is inexpensive and the price was kinda reflected on the quality of the food. Portions were big but I would have preferred quality over quantity.
