Beautiful venue and decor in a little house with a garden. Although the selection for the brunch buffet was not huge, they made up for it in terms of quality. Attentive service as well. Great place to dine when the weather is great as they have an outdoor terrace on the 2nd floor.

Good food here. Service is also great. Intimate setting so it is not really a place for large group gatherings.

Love the ambience and decor of the place. Also located at a very convenient distance from the Jingan metro station (you do not want to drive to Jingan on a Friday evening!)
Food was very unique and portions were decent.
This is based on my experience during restaurant week.
My friend tried the fried plantain with pork and i had the veal skewers.
The plantain was really good. Something very different for sure. The veal was really tender though i couldn't really tell that there was a sauce on the meat. Still enjoyed it.
For the ceviche course, we tried the mini octopus in coconut and the sea bass in lemon and fish's extract. The octopus was nice and creamy, like most things in coconut milk. Big portion as well. The sea bass had a lot of tang to it from the lemon and lime. I prefered the octopus as the sea bass was a little too sour for my taste.
We both tried the slow cooked lamb which was delicious too. Lamb was of course tender and not too dry from those hours of cooking.
The dessert was pretty special too. With banana and passionfruit thrown in the same dish, You get different layers of flavour.
Overall experience was definitely positive and i look forward to going back.

This was another restaurant with promise but failed to deliver. Beautiful cosy venue on the Bund.
It started with an unpleasant incident about the menu.
One of my friends only takes fish and vegetables and I had written a comment about this in my reservation. There have been no issues with other restaurants but the staff here was insistent that they would only serve what's on the Dining week menu and kept saying that they have no other food. After 5 mins of listening to each other's side of the story, a waitress pulls out the reservation list where my request was clearly printed. I told him that he should have informed me earlier if my request was not possible. After looking at the reservation, he finally gave in saying he would speak to the chef. He came back with a few amendments where they had simply removed the shrimp and mango from the salad and changed the pasta to from spicy clams to pesto. It did not require a huge overhaul on their part so I do not understand why this was not proposed earlier.
In my chicken caesar salad were 3 shreds of dry chicken, but at least the salad was not overdressed.
The spicy clam pasta was probably my favourite dish that afternoon. Pasta was not overcooked and I liked that little bit of heat in the dish.
We had ordered one medium and one medium rare steak in our group. But both steaks were done to the same medium rare. The restaurant might need to work on that. While the meat was tender, there was not much flavour to it. My friends who had the sea bass with strawberry sauce were happy with their dish.
Dessert was a non-descript, store bought vanilla ice cream.
It was definitely cheap for a 4 course lunch but I would have expected the restaurant to showcase their best efforts for restaurant week.

    Great dinner!
It was a very big menu..9 courses in total.
Small, cosy dining area.. and i like that. It was not noisy and we could speak without having to raise our voices.
Food was of course freshly prepared, being teppanyaki.
Ingredients used were pretty fresh, the jumbo shrimp and abalone were definitely two of my favourite courses.
Overall we really enjoyed the meal.
Service was very friendly although they might be a little enthusiastic about the clearing the plates.

Love the brunch here. The spread might not be as large as the Shangri la or the Westin but it is sufficient to satisfy my appetite. More importantly, the dishes are all top quality and well presented. Love that the mains are served upon order rather than sitting in a tray. Service is really good as the wait staff are very attentive and accommodating. The wine glass hardly gets empty as they are very eager to refill your drink.

We tried the dinner menu the first round so we decided to try the lunch this time. Food was top notch once again. Coupled with the excellent service, it is easy to see why they deserve the mention. The dim sum trio was made with fresh ingredients and you could savour full pieces of shrimp and scallops. (too many places have them all diced and minced) The shrimp dish in curry reminded me of a Singaporean dish called Laksa. We enjoyed that dish as well. Definitely one of my go-to places now.

Excellent food. Love that you taste the natural flavor of the food without the use of overpowering sauces. Highlight for me had to be the beef. Coupled with the sides of baby beets and pumpkin, there were so many flavors to enjoy on the same plate.

Having heard so much about the place, we had really high expectations. Hakkasan did not disappoint. Service was excellent! A very interesting amuse bouche. Appetizers of duck salad and vegetarian goose got us nodding our heads in approval. Our favourite main had to be the cod. Really nice piece of cod. I am always apprehensive about cod as it tends to smell pungent if it is not fresh or prepared correctly. This dish left me wanting more. Coconut semifreddo was a real surprise as I am not a fan of coconut desserts. But the presentation and creamy taste made me change my mind.
