Great food & service...and a nice view!
We went for the 6 course menu (for 388 RMB). Service was a little keen (incl hard sell on drinks). The food was uneven - crab cakes were the best of the 6 courses; foie gras terrine portion was tiny; lobster bisque was watery and quite tasteless; scallops were nice; sirloin was a little tough; dessert was ok. Although the restaurant was non-smoking, there was smoke coming from the adjacent bar! In summary, the experience was nothing special and I would not return for the food.
We found the view of this restaurant way more enjoyable than the food. Nice service though.
We always go for every DiningCity Deal at every restaurant. This one was very good at The Grill on 56. Again real value for money, although we spend more than we were planning to. We're looking out for the next DC deal.
Overall feeling generally, there is no special amazing place.
Excellent food, nice tasting menu, beautiful presentation. One recommendation, for a tasting 6 course menu, would be that there should be someone to describe to the table each course as it's served.
Space is a concern . Space between tables are bad. Not enough space for service staff to move around. Food have to be served across tables, above guest's heads. Further more , some guests were very loud and ......., that have actually spoiled the atmosphere of the restaurant . We felt like we were in a fast food outlet. Maybe restaurant should exercise some "policies " to advise guest's behaviors ?
The view from my table was fantastic, the food was just as good!
Service from a young Australian man was outstanding, always good having an english speaker on hand to help the non-chinese speaking customers!
I was excited to go to this dinner, but after eating, I felt pretty let down. It was a great view and some of the food was great, but other courses were not.
